Play got underway on time. Sayers and McGrath took the score to 227 (50 partnership) before McGrath was trapped in front for 19 to one that kept low. Sayers continued to look solid and played some nice shots to go through to his second century of the summer. Younus Khan went cheaply for 12, Rudolph came in and started playing a series of fine shots. He was missed early on, Sayers moved onto 123 before finally falling for 123.
Brophy and Rudolph increased the scoring rate, Brophy continuing his good recent form. The pair put on 102 before Nel got Brophy lbw for 44. Bresnan and Gough both hit well, while Rudolph continued towards his second Yorkshire ton in the Championship. When Yorkshire's declaration came Rudolph was 129 not out (191 balls, 17 fours and 1 six). Bresnan was dismissed for 33 and Darren Gough was 22 not out from 19 balls. Gough called it a day at 521 for 7.
Yorkshire picked up two early wickets before the close, Hoggard removing Moore for 0 and Gillespie bowling Solanki for 5. Ex Yorkshire player Phil Jacques has played well 38 not out. Worcester have closed the day on 57 for 2.
