YORKSHIRE V WORCESTERSHIRE

Yorkshire brought in Adil Rashid for his first limited overs start to the season, presumably to strengthen the batting as Brophy was injured. Guy behind the stumps. Worcester won the toss and batted. Moore went early to Gough, Solanki then joined Jacques, Jacques was unusually becalmed as the Worcester skipper did most of the scoring. They took the score to 63 when Rashid made an immediate impact bowling Jacques for 13. Smith bagged a pair in the Championship and made a single here before Pyrah came on and got him to drive to Darren Gough at mid on. Hick then joined Solanki. The pair looked like getting Worcester right back into the game. Solanki had progressed to 46 when cut hard a Bresnan and was brilliantly caught by Pyrah, 113 for 4. Pyrah (2-31) and Rashid (1-27) bowled economical spells in the middle of the innings. Ex England batsman dominated the latter part of the Worcester innings making 86 not out (87 balls). He and Kabir Ali 22 not out (11 balls) hit well towards the end of the innings, Darren Gough suffering as he went for 68 from his ten. Tim Bresnan took 3 for 43 as Worcester closed on 215 for 7.

Only 10 balls of the Yorkshire innings were bowled before the rain ended the game. No result.
