Rain delayed play until 2.30pm, Yorkshire soon made up for lost time. This was a terrific Yorkshire bowling performance. The tone was set up in the opening over when Gough dived full length to cath Jacques for 38 off Hoggard. Hoggard and Gough were bang on target and Yorkshire's fielders backed them all the way. Rudolph clung on to a good slip catch, Rashid caught one close in and McGrath held on at third slip. Hoggard showing his best form ended with 5 for 34, Gillespie 3 for 56 and there was a wicket for Rashid and Gough as Worcestershire fell for 129.
Following on Worcester soon lost Moore caught off Gough with the score on 14.
